Introduction
The commitment to harvesting souls into the church is as important as the effort to win them to Christ. Every farmer knows that leaving the harvest on the field exposes it to destruction. The same applies to souls who are not properly gathered into the church for preservation.
🔹 Proverbs 10:5 – “He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.”
🔹 Matthew 12:30 – Every soul left outside is vulnerable to the enemy’s attacks.
🔹 2 Timothy 2:6 – Until the harvest is stored, the farmer is not entitled to his reward.
Today, we will explore why bringing new converts into the church is necessary for their preservation.
For the Preservation of New Converts
1️⃣ Every Child of God Has an Appointed Spiritual Home
📖 2 Samuel 7:10; Deuteronomy 12:13-14
🔹 2 Samuel 7:10 – “Moreover, I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and move no more.”
🔹 Deuteronomy 12:13-14 – God commands that we serve Him in the place He has chosen, not where we desire.
📌 Just as every sheep belongs to a fold, every believer must be planted in a spiritual home to grow and be preserved.
2️⃣ The Church is the New Testament City of Refuge
📖 Psalm 92:10-15; Joshua 20:2
🔹 Psalm 92:12-14 – “The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those that be planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God.”
🔹 Joshua 20:2 – The city of refuge was a place of safety in the Old Testament; today, the church is our place of security.
📌 Outside the church, many new converts are prone to returning to their old ways. In God’s house, they are fed, strengthened, and shielded from destruction.
Action Steps
✅ Help new converts understand that the church is their spiritual home.
✅ Encourage them to stay connected to the fold to avoid spiritual attacks.
✅ Pray for their stability and preservation in the faith.
✅ Ensure they are part of Bible study groups, discipleship classes, and kingdom service.
Prayer Point
🙏 Father, in the name of Jesus, I receive grace to be committed to the ingathering of souls. Let every new convert remain rooted in Your house and preserved in the faith, in Jesus’ name! Amen!
Prophetic Blessing
📢 I decree that every new convert connected to you shall be preserved! No soul you bring to Christ shall be lost to the world. Your reward for soul-winning shall not be cut short, and the grace to be fruitful in the kingdom shall multiply upon you, in Jesus’ mighty name! Amen!
