Introduction
A farmer’s labour is never complete until the harvest is gathered, processed, and stored. Leaving the harvest in the field is an open invitation to loss and destruction. In the same way, winning souls without bringing them into the church leaves them vulnerable to the enemy’s attacks.
🔹 Proverbs 10:5 – A wise son gathers in the harvest; a lazy son allows it to waste.
🔹 Matthew 12:30 – Every harvest left outside is at risk of being devoured.
🔹 2 Timothy 2:6 – The farmer is only rewarded when the harvest reaches the storehouse.
Today, we will focus on how the church serves as a place of spiritual growth and development for new converts.
For the Spiritual Growth and Development of New Converts
1️⃣ The Church is the Spiritual Service Station
📖 Psalm 84:7; Acts 2:46-47
🔹 Psalm 84:7 – “They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.”
🔹 Acts 2:46-47 – The early church grew as believers continued steadfastly in fellowship.
📌 Just as a car needs regular servicing to function properly, new converts need the church to grow spiritually, receive strength, and remain steadfast in the faith.
2️⃣ Only God-Ordained Ministers are Called to Feed the Flock
📖 Ephesians 4:11-12; Jeremiah 3:15-16; Acts 20:28
🔹 Ephesians 4:11-12 – “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints.”
🔹 Jeremiah 3:15 – “And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.”
🔹 Acts 20:28 – Ministers are divinely appointed to oversee and nurture the flock.
📌 While friends and mentors may encourage and counsel, only God-ordained pastors, apostles, and teachers are equipped to properly feed new converts for spiritual maturity.
Action Steps
✅ Encourage new converts to remain connected to the church for continuous spiritual growth.
✅ Help them develop a habit of regular church attendance, personal Bible study, and kingdom service.
✅ Direct them to teachings and mentorship under anointed spiritual leaders.
✅ Pray for their spiritual stability and divine empowerment.
Prayer Point
🙏 Father, in the name of Jesus, I receive grace to remain committed to gathering souls into Your house. Let every new convert grow from strength to strength and be established in the faith, in Jesus’ name! Amen!
